Mrs. Rinaldi and I (Mme Marion) have just attended the TLLP2014 conference in Toronto, Ontario. TLLP is the Teacher Learning and Leadership Program, a Ministry funded project for self-chosen professional learning activities in areas that are meaningful to the teacher.
We are getting ready to implement a blended classroom for the 2014-2015 academic year. Students will have the option to bring their own devices in the classroom (yes! with wifi access!), or use one of the school's iPad minis.
What is blended learning, you ask?

Does this answer your question?
Blended learning is a classroom which incorporates both online and face-to-face learning. In our classrooms, students will become captains of their own ship. They will, as the year progresses, become responsible for their own learning.
Close your eyes and try to visualize a classroom where students come in, grab their devices, and begin to work immediately on a task of their choice. Imagine students coming in the classroom, and sitting anywhere they please, wherever they feel the most comfortable learning!
Your child will be part of this journey. Your child will be recording their thinking using devices. Your child will choose how to show us their learning. Your child will become more and more independent and responsible for his/her learning as the year progresses.
We are very excited to embark on this journey together. We expect there to be some learning curves, but have a positive outlook. Nothing can stop us now, we are ready for change!
